During this process, a custom team will be assembled for each project based on your preferences during the final Discovery presentation.
Web Design Process

But behind our team lies a proprietary, highly-defined project management system built through the experience gathered from building hundreds of websites and from managing countless related projects for our clients. We call this 8-step process “From Concept to Solution™”.
Our 8-step process is unique in the industry, as it ensures each of our clients is handled the same—from one client to the next, one project to the next. Large or small, every project is treated to the same thorough, deliberate development process, ensuring the highest levels of quality possible, and the most effective results.
The Sales Director and members of the sales and creative teams collaborate to develop the groundwork for your project to be developed. Through industry research and experience gained through the development of hundreds of websites, this Site Plan will outline what items are needed in the short-term, propose a model for the website structure, give an estimated project timeframe based on historical data, and will provide a directory of key members of our team that will be involved in the development of your project. In other words, the Site Plan is your roadmap to project success.
Your Sales Director will help determine your content needs during the Discovery process. For instance, if Full Content Development services are selected, our Creative Content Director and other Content Specialists will work with you through on-site interviews, e-mail and phone consultations to generate the appropriate web content. Similarly, if you should decide that Full Content Development services are not required, but assistance would be helpful in bringing it all together and in providing wording, grammar and style suggestions, Content Coordination services may be offered instead. Alternately, if you should choose to develop content internally, the Sharp Innovations content team will act as a proofing and review service, to help make your content the best it can be.
Our creative team will develop a series of beta website compositions to illustrate different paths to reaching your communications objectives. These “beta comps” build upon the pre-comp designs presented during the Discovery phase, with client suggestions and further design revisions implemented. Each beta comp features a sample home page layout with a coordinating interior page, to give you a complete sense of how each design would look and function if fully developed. Beta comps are revised to your complete satisfaction before moving ahead with full site development. This beta comp stage is our “double check” to make sure our shared ideas become a concrete reality.
After a final beta composition is selected, our design team will implement the full beta site development, which marries the approved content from Phase 3 with the approved comp from Phase 4 to create a complete website. Animation and other dynamic programming elements are then added in Phase 6.
As defined by the goals determined during our Discovery meetings in Phase 1, our design and web programming teams will deploy a back-end integration plan to connect the static website to client databases, Flash animation, web applications, search engine optimization, mailing list servers, e-commerce storefronts, merchant processing services, and other dynamic elements. In many cases, web programming development and beta site expansion (Phase 5) are simultaneously completed to meet your project deadlines.
This stage gives all parties the opportunity to review the entire, completed project for consistency with the goals established in Phase 1, including site architecture, design, programming functionality and content accuracy. All revision work is completed through our weekly scheduling process, and no site is launched until fully approved by both you and the team at Sharp Innovations.
In this final stage, our technical team tests all site functionality and enables site traffic reporting services. Before going live, we make ensure everything functions as planned and that all aspects of selected search engine optimization and directory submission services are implemented as agreed upon. Well also make sure the maintenance plan details are in-place to ensure all future updates will be handled seamlessly. As with any service that we provide, we fully intend that the launch of your new website will just be the beginning of our relationship—not the end.
